Hi, I’m Jen Stoneman.
I set up my swim school in 2009 after finding it difficult to find good quality swimming lessons for my 3 year old son. I wanted an environment which was fun and relaxed but which also offered high quality, progressive instruction introducing him to the main swim strokes, developing his water confidence and providing him with an understanding of water safety. Struggling to find exactly what I wanted, I decided these criteria should form the values and objectives of my swim school, Angelfish Swimmers.
Growing up by the sea I have always had an affinity with water and a passion for swimming. I started teaching as a volunteer for my local club in my early teens and have been involved with the industry ever since. I have over 20 years professional teaching experience, am a fully qualified Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA) Level 2 Swimming Teacher, I am qualified to teach people with disabilities and hold an Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) Level 2 Extended Diploma in Coaching Learn to Swim (Pre-Fundamentals).
In addition to teaching pre-schoolers, I am also experienced in instructing baby swimming, older children and adults. I am hugely proud of all my swimmers, not least my very own Angelfish, Dylan and Esme who both share my love and enthusiasm for the sport.
